GREAT neighborhood, tiny apartment with a terrace, big bathroom, clean, safe building. <br /><br />

* Food:

you have to eat meat, vegetables are rare, TAPAS ARE TO DIE FOR

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I had a spanish boyfriend, we traveled all over spain and europe, went on guided trips with the university.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent about 200 euros on myself but I spend a lot and was not in a homestay where you are expected to be home for dinner every weekday night, which is included in your rent. Also that included cabs, going out, groceries, shopping, etc.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? a lot of stuff can't go on credit cards, metro cards have to be in cash, credit cards don't always work in kiosks.
