Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teachers there were amazing and very personable.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Tried to make a schedule change that would have been incredibly helpful for my credit transfer, and for my ability to stay engaged and achieve a balance between school and experiencing Greece. However, I did not get any help and was shut down immediately.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was lucky to be living with some great people and the apartment was very nice. Nothing crazy but I was very happy with it.

* Food:

School provides lunch for free and serves a random meal each day. It ranged from mediocore to pretty good. Food in Greece in general is very good and the prices are incredibly cheap.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I didn't really make any greek friends that were my age, similar to most people in my program. But i got a solid understnading foe the daily life of the city and got to know some of the restaurant workers.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Didn't really come across any health related issues or experiences.

* Safety:

Honestly much safer than what I was told to expect. Just don't do obviously stupid things like walking through a park alone at night, or leaveing your valuables in places that make them easy to steal.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

It was perfect, any issues were my fault.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I could have spent a lot less but the desire to try restaurant made foods, travel, and experience the night life became very expensive.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 300-400$
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy groceries for breakfast!
