"I learned that I prefer interaction between humans more than learning knowledge by myself. Also, I've realized the importance of self-learning on a topic that really interests me. "

"I learned a lot in my classes that will be useful for my major. I gained a lot of good friends and experiences. I do think it was worthwhile because I did experience so much, good and bad. I would pick a different program in the end for better support, but I wouldn't pick different peers or country."

"The program taught me a lot and grew my confidence in theatre and in other aspects of my life, but I was in the worst mental state of my life and my program did not value mental health and did not know how to support POC students. Also they had a class called "Experimental Lab" where there were no boundaries, the only rule was "..."

"I learned that knowing English is a privilege and sometimes even being American is a privilege. English is everywhere. White people are loved everywhere. Brown and black people tend to be ignored. Sure, I guess."

"I gained self-confidence. i faced many challenges while studying abroad and the fact that I managed, in the end, to find a way to succeed makes me feel prepared to deal with future challenges confidently. "I learned how to live independently. Overall, the program was a net neutral. Not worthwhile but not entirely useless."
A student Wellesley College
"I depended my knowledge of Spanish, local Spanish culture and history, and my own self-confidence and global thinking. It was worthwhile in these senses, but who knows- I probably would have experienced the same things if I did another program somewhere else. The program was great but I just wasn't satisfied with my time in Spai..."

"I learned how to roll with the punches and how to survive living alone. Though I spend a lot of time working on class assignments and really put in a lot of effort in that area, I feel like I didn't really learn much. I learned how to budget my money and how to plan successful trips. I learned how to travel alone and to feel saf..."

"I didn't realize that you really have to figure out what you want from your experience and go for it. There really is no guidance when you get there, and you have to navigate on your own. I wish I had stuck to a few things I liked and made the right friends, but I still made some cool memories. I am still unsure if it was worthw..."

"This program was humbling; though, it became increasingly difficult to connect with my peers on the program because there was an obvious misunderstanding of privilege. However, what made it worthwhile was that I was able to befriend locals from each country and connect with them. "

Hannah K Wellesley College
