University of Edinburgh: Edinburgh - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about myself in terms of my own mental health and interests. I'd say it was worthwhile because I was able to travel a lot, and because I loved Edinburgh. The program was just fine, but the city is amazing and I feel lucky to have been able to live there.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Coursework was what I expected for a University like the University of Edinburgh. The courses were great.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I'm not sure what this question is asking. The "administration of my program" was just me directly enrolling. If this is a question regarding the administration of the University of Edinburgh, it was fine as far as I know.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was very confusing in that there wasn't much guidance from the program- i had to look other places to find information about the dorms.

* Food:

They don't serve food at the University, other than if you pay to be in a special dorm for it. This question isn't really relevant to this program. If this is about the food in Edinburgh, it was great! What one would expect from a capital city.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I had a great feeling for the city but in terms of "local culture" I felt that students were very different from locals and there was a bit of a divide between student spaces and nonstudent spaces.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not have an experience with healthcare.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment
