SEA Semester is a program provider offering 11 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad and Research abroad programs in 17 countries such as New Zealand, Fiji, American Samoa, Guam and US Western Pacific Territories, and Multi-Region.

Since 1971, SEA has been a leader in off-campus study focused on marine science, maritime culture, and environmental studies. Our SEA Semester study abroad programs challenge students intellectually and physically by combining the sailing adventure of a lifetime with study of the deep ocean and the interactions between humans and the sea.. We create environmentally literate leaders who are prepared to address the defining issue of the twenty-first century: the human impact on the environment. We look for motivated students of all majors who are passionate about learning, willing to seek out new challenges, and eager to become part of a unique learning community.

SEA Semester programs have taken nearly 7,600 college students representing all majors to the deep ocean, under sail, to study the science and culture of the sea. Our interdisciplinary semester and summer programs combine elements of oceanography, maritime history & culture, environmental studies, public policy, and resource management to allow students to approach study of the oceans from a variety of perspectives.

Each semester long SEA Semester program begins with six weeks of academic coursework on SEA's campus in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and continues with a six-week open ocean voyage aboard one of our sailing research vessels. Our summer programs vary from five to eight weeks in length with shore components in Woods Hole or abroad. While at sea, all students engage in independent research while participating as active members of the ship's crew.

Isn't it worth one semester to study three-quarters of the world?
