About

Peru boasts an array of attractions from the Andes Mountains and Amazon Rainforest, to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu built by the Inca centuries ago. Students will not only experience the beauty of Peru’s natural and manmade wonders, but also face harsh realities of poverty-stricken areas in the city, children without families, families without homes, and people in need of hope. Students may partner with local ministries to work in urban and rural orphanages, do outreach for children and youth at local churches and schools, get involved in house churches, teach English, help meet needs in the community, and more. Students will grow in their faith as they discover what it means to be an international missionary, serve others, and gain a global perspective.

The Mission Mentor disciples Veritas students in their experiences through prayer, reflection, and spiritual support as well as connects them to ministry partners and local churches.

The International Missions/Service-Learning Practicum provides a great opportunity to reinforce the cross-cultural missions experience in-country. Students will receive college credits for the reflection activities, journal entries, and cultural research which enhance the overall experience.
Students will live in homestays with Peruvian families conveniently located near the university by walking or public transportation. This experience allows the students to have growth in language, understanding the host culture, and support from a local family!

For semester programs, students will take the Veritas program course, the Veritas International Missions/Service-Learning Practicum, and 3 or 4 other courses from the Universidad de Salamanca Cursos Internacionales en Cusco. Beginning language students must enroll in a Spanish course.

For summer programs, students will take International Missions/Service-Learning Practicum and 2 courses from the Universidad de Salamanca Cursos Internacionales en Cusco.
