Internship and Work Experience Placements in Indonesia Includes:
Turtle Conservation and Rehabilitation on the Island of Nusa Penida in Bali: You'll work on an island which is a 45 minute speed boat ride from mainland Bali. You'll contribute to collecting vital baseline data and, depending on time of the year, you may identify turtle species, collect eggs, monitor nests or see hatchlings get safely to sea. During the day, you'll also teach English at one of the local schools on the island. Few native English speakers have taught English here before, so your experience is guaranteed to be an authentic one!
Care For, and Teach, Children in a Kindergarten in Bali: Care for and teach English to young Balinese children; aged 4 to 5 years old, whose curious minds and natural friendliness gives you the opportunity to make a real impact. You'll encourage the children to learn and grow creatively, thus sowing the seeds for a greater future in years to come. The Kindergarten offers free kindergarten education to 4-5 year old children from poor villages in and around the area. The local children are warm and affectionate and would rather spend time playing than learning.
Teach Children in a Local School or Teaching Centre in Ubud in Bali: Work with children as an assistant teacher teaching English, Sport and Games to local children in a school or Teaching Centre. You can teach a variety of English Based subjects, and you'll also be able to teach whole classes on your own or or take classes together with other volunteers. The average ages of children are between 4-7 years old for preschool and between 7-14 years old for primary school.
