What made this experience worthwhile was the people I got to know. Even though my program was cut short I still made some life-long friends during my two months in NZ. Pete - University of Arizona View Entire Review
1000% worthwhile. I learned so much more about how to be independent and organized. I've lived alone at my university before but traveling half way across the world alone is definitely a testing experience. I gained a lot of new friends, experiences, and memories that I will never forget. A student - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I gained further knowledge about myself that I would've never found had I never gone abroad to New Zealand. I found out more about my identity, what makes me happy, and what kind of life I hope to have. I also learned the value of global knowledge and understanding, and my world-views shifted in response to my experience abroad ... I definitely have grown a lot. I've learned to go about studying differently, especially when with other individuals. I have gradually learned to be more ok with being myself and being alone with myself. It all takes time. I am grateful for the people I met, regardless of if I am in contact or not. Everyone holds an impact, you ... A student - University of Hartford View Entire Review

I cannot even begin to describe my study abroad experience. I gained so many great friends from around the world that I still keep in touch with and plan to visit sometime in the future. I learned so much about myself and what I was capable of. I did things I never thought I could. I learned about independence and how to acclimate to new situations. I learned about respect of cultures and just because it's different, doesn't mean it's wrong. It was the most worthwhile experience of my life. I gained lifelong friends and more knowledge in my major from a New Zealand perspective. Once you step outside of your comfort zone, you can have the time of your life. Nneka W - Birmingham-Southern College View Entire Review
I learned that I was far more capable than I ever thought. I took a big risk leaving home and traveling on my own for five months, and it helped me become much more of an independent adult. I met amazing people and had incredible experiences. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Lauren A - Drake University View Entire Review
I learned SO much from this experience. I was never very interested in outdoorsy activities or knew much about NZ before I went so I was really stepping outside my comfort zone. TEAN is first class all the way and really made my transition to the Kiwi lifestyle a lot easier. It was definitely worthwhile! Emily H - Clemson University View Entire Review
The thought of going and living in another country by yourself is scary, but it's definitely worthwhile. Studying abroad constantly required me to step out of my comfort zone whether it was physically (like skydiving), emotionally, or socially. Although it was short-lived, I have memories that'll last forever. Emma - University of Iowa View Entire Review

Really, the question should be "what didn't I gain?" I truly learned how to live on my own- cooking, cleaning, classes, traveling, budgeting, international housemates.
