I learned a lot about another country as well as a lot about myself. This was a journey where independence was needed and I was immersed in activities and situations that I would never imagined myself to be in years ago. Even being in a country that is pretty similar to the United States, there was a lot of culture and history t... Jenna Kobata - California Lutheran University View Entire Review

If I could sum all of Australia up in one word, it would be unforgettable. Everything we did there, from scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef with TEAN, to going on adventures in the rainforest, to sunset dinner cruises and everything in between, it was all unforgettable. The friends I met and the lessons I learned are ones I won... Erika Penrose - University of Kentucky View Entire Review

Studying abroad helped me grow more independent and helped me become more culturally aware of the world around me. Being able to watch american news while in Australia and to hear Australians comments on major issues gave me a unique perspective on how other parts of the world view some of the major issues america faces. I originally made the decision to study abroad for personal growth reasons, but I ended up learning more than I ever thought I would. I had never traveled outside of the country before, and the prospect of it terrified me. Pushing myself outside of my comfort zone helped me to grow as an individual. I am by no means the same p... What I gained from this experience was learning more about myself than I have ever before. I think that starting new in a brand new place with brand new people is something everyone can do because they can leave behind their past and begin anew and that is so refreshing. It's true when they say studying abroad will change you. Beforehand I could not imagine that I would be able to confidently travel alone to a foreign place. I gained so much from my time abroad. I made friendships still maintained today, learned to arrange my own travel accommodations, travel independently, and navigate public transportation. Claire - Towson University View Entire Review
I think the biggest lesson I learned while being abroad was to do something that you love, not because someone else wants you to do it. I came across many occasions in Australia where I really wanted to do something but no one else wanted to or didnt have the time. Instead of skipping out on the opportunity, I went for it alone.... You learn so much more than academics while you are abroad. You learn about cultures, food, people, yourself, and the world in a way that just can't be described.
