Overall Experience
A student studying abroad with The Education Abroad Network: Dunedin - University of Otago
I could type for hours and not mention everything I learned from my abroad experience. New Zealand taught me to be more adventurous, outgoing, willing to try almost anything, and to look at everything wit... - Clemson University View Entire Review
I gained so much from this experience! Although I did not do anyting specific to my major of kinesiology, this experience not only looks great on a resume but will change your overall perspecive of anyone from other countries that you meet and also what you think of your own country by getting a different perspective from people... - University of Massachusetts Amherst View Entire Review
This was the most worthwhile experience. I learned things about life, the world, and myself that I don't think I would have ever discovered without going abroad. New Zealand is a beautiful place and I fell in love with that country. From this experience, I made amazing memories and lifelong friends. - University of Iowa View Entire Review
I realized a lot about the world and other people, also myself. It has made me realized and see the different cultures and how other people live their lives. - Birmingham-Southern College View Entire Review

About

Known as New Zealand's college town, Dunedin is home to the oldest university in New Zealand, the University of Otago - established in 1869, the city literally grew around the university. With a particular focus on the traditional arts and sciences, the University offers a broad spectrum of courses for study abroad students, with an unbeatable location from which to explore the incredibly beautiful South Island of New Zealand. With Queenstown and the Southern Alps only a few hours away, and the wildlife and beautiful landscapes of the nearby Otago Peninsula and surrounding region, students who love the outdoors will be in their element. With 85% of the University's students living within a 15 minute walk of campus, participants integrate well in their university housing that blends in with the local community. TEAN participants start their semester in Queenstown, adventure capital of the world, on New Zealand's South Island. Combined with an extensive orientation program and in-country support, participants are fully prepared to get the most from their semester abroad.
