I gained greater perspectives about the world and about other people. Seeing more of the world is an invaluable experience that no movie, image, or story can replace, which is why my experience was so worthwhile. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and wish I could go back already. - Villanova University View Entire Review

Study abroad was certainly the most worthwhile experience I have ever pushed myself to undertake. Studying abroad is not like going on vacation to another country because you have enough time to fully immerse yourself in the culture and experience life in another country. I learned to be more open with people, to come out of my comfort zone every once in a while, you can learn new things from the most unlikely of sources, and you never know what you like until you try it. I feel like a left a part of myself in New Zealand and came back to the U.S with an improved version of myself. - Rollins College View Entire Review

I learned how to be independent. My whole traditional support system was quite literally on the other side of the world with a large time difference. If I ever had an issue, I was always able to contact my RA with TEAN and they would always provide a plethora of information to keep me prepared - University of Iowa View Entire Review
During my time in New Zealand, I feel as though I was able to integrate fully into the laid-back lifestyle of the Kiwi population. While I was abroad, I learned a lot about myself and how to be more independent and grow as a person and a learner. It was absolutely worthwhile and I would do it again a million times. Out of all my 21 years, I believe that I grew the most during my five months abroad. I started out on this journey completely alone, which was absolutely terrifying.
