During my time in New Zealand, I feel as though I was able to integrate fully into the laid-back lifestyle of the Kiwi population. I spent much of my free time exploring the naturally beautiful landscapes that the country had to offer and taking full advantage of the hospitality that was easily found around every corner. I learned to be more independent while abroad. I chose which classes I wanted to take and where I wanted to travel. Studying abroad was a chance to travel like I had never done before, and it was definitely worth it. I got to meet people from all over the world and have the time of my life! - University of Iowa View Entire Review
Traveling abroad taught me to step out of my comfort zone. While in New Zealand, I did things I never thought I would do- from bungee jumping to solo road trips. This wasn't always easy, but completely worth it! - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo View Entire Review

While I was abroad, I learned a lot about myself and how to be more independent and grow as a person and a learner. It was absolutely worthwhile and I would do it again a million times. Who I became while I was abroad is so much closer to the person I want to be, and it was an experience I will never forget and cherish forever. - University of New Hampshire View Entire Review
First, it was DEFINITELY worthwhile. During my time in New Zealand, I learned so much about other ways of life, made connections with different kinds of people, and learned so much about myself. The most important thing I learned while spending a semester over seas is that there is more than one way of life and that there is no ... - College of Charleston View Entire Review
Studying abroad in New Zealand is easily the best decision I have made in my college. When I finally decided to do it, I knew NZ would be the perfect place. And perfect it was! Out of all my 21 years, I believe that I grew the most during my five months abroad. I started out on this journey completely alone, which was absolutely terrifying. I had hardly been out of the country, never mind lived on the opposite side of the world without knowing a single person. But with the help of TEAN, I was able to m... - University of New Hampshire View Entire Review

It's hard to even put my experience into words. I gained so much exposure to the other side of the globe. Independence, international friends, different perspective of the U.S. Learned how to be a risk-taker in a safe way and push myself outside my comfort zone. - Rollins College View Entire Review

Because I did not know any other student on my program before departing, being abroad allowed me to foster a greater sense of independence and self. Through living with (initially) strangers, I better learned to compromise, reason, and work with others. I learned to let go of the small things in order to learn the big things. I was able to learn about taking a chance and going somewhere unfamiliar with new people. I made so many friends and had the experience of a lifetime. It was absolutely worthwhile and if I could start the whole journey over tomorrow, I would without hesitation. - University of Maryland - College Park View Entire Review
Study abroad was certainly the most worthwhile experience I have ever pushed myself to undertake. I learned all the cliche lessons that you read from study abroad alumni - they only sound so cliche until you take the jump and do it and realize they are all true. I feel more independent, more self-sufficient, and confident in my ... - University of Rhode Island View Entire Review
New Zealand is a place I had never even thought about until I discovered TEAN hosted a study abroad program there that my university was affiliated with. Studying abroad is not like going on vacation to another country because you have enough time to fully immerse yourself in the culture and experience life in another country. I learned to be more open with people, to come out of my comfort zone every once in a while, you can learn new things from the most unlikely of sources, and you never know what you like until you try it. I feel like a left a part of myself in New Zealand and came back to the U.S with an improved version of myself. - Rollins College View Entire Review
