Summit Global Education: Europe - Study Abroad Tour (Multi-Country)

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about how to be an independent traveler abroad. The trip was what you made it and if you were independent and made your own plans, you had a lot of fun. If you didn't know how to travel and make plans, you would sit in your room. There were students that did not see a lot on the trip because they didn't know how to travel and didn't get a lot of guidance.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The classes do not have a consistency through out the program. Classes are very different throughout the program and lots of repetitive information is shared in each class.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

There wasn't really one administration

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

No food included. The restaurants I went to were good

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

If you make an effort to integrate in the culture. No help with integration.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

When students had health problems they handled them on their own. One girl took herself to the hospital multiple times due to a foot injury.

* Safety:

Make sure to stay with people in the group.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Everything was paid for beforehand. Some hidden costs.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $215, which includes food, souvenirs, gifts, extra metro tickets, etc
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Make sure to ask about finances in the beginning. There were hidden costs that it would have been nice to know about before hand.
