Study Abroad Programs in Italy

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This was extremely worthwhile. I plan on going to graduate school once I graduate with a focus on Roman History, so my time spent in Rome combined with what I learned from my professor will be tremendously helpful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Our apartment was very nice and we were located in a great area. We were only about 3 blocks away from the Vatican.

While in Italy I had some of the best food I have ever had.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt completely integrated into the culture by the time my study abroad was over.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

There was never a time during my stay that I did not feel safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It is easy to live on a student's budget if you do not plan on taking trips outside of the city.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent around $400 a week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Go the the market and buy bread and sandwich materials for your apartment. It is much cheaper than eating out two to three times a day.
