it was incredibly worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself and another culture, I also learned to appreciate my own country and culture more than ever.

we lived with Italian families many of whom spoke only Italian and since we ate two meals a day with them language was very important. |

| Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | If the people in your city respond to you in English, just keep speaking in their language. They might be trying to practice their English and so won't switch back but often they will and even if they don't a bilingual conversation can be very interesting. |
