What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was definitely worth while. I gained a greater appreciation for America, I made a ton of new friends, I learned so much about China and its culture. I tried amazing food and made memories I will remember for the rest of my life.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in the hotel and loved it!

* Food:

I loved all of the food! Be brave and try as much as you can, you wont regret it!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We are only there for 5 weeks so you cannot fully integrate into the culture but you do a bit.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I didn't have any health issues while abroad

* Safety:

For the most part I always felt safe

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I ended up spending a lot of money while abroad, but I shopped and went out a ton. If you don't plan on shopping a lot you could get by with a lot less money.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? You will be fine if you bring a hair straightener and power strip. Lesson planning takes a lot of work and time. Do not pack so much clothes you really wont need it. Bring lots of bug spray and workout type clothes. Bring a couple of nice dress up outfits.
