A student studying abroad with Pachaysana Institute: Ecuador - Rehearsing Change
Pachaysana is actually supporting local participant communities in changing their systems, from small greenhouses and stages to the stories that circulate in our societies. It was a privilege to take part in that dreaming together. - Williams College View Entire Review
I was looking for a challenging, different abroad experience, and Rehearsing Change pushed me to reach beyond my potential, forge international friendships, and develop new perspectives. I never could have imagined how rewarding this program would be, and it was truly the most impactful semester of my entire educational career. - American University View Entire Review

Rehearsing Change far surpassed any goals I had for the semester. I was looking for a program that would connect me to someplace new — a program that was intrinsically linked to the place it occurred, rather than just-so-happening to occur somewhere. I really don’t know enough about other study abroad programs to fairly compare... - Brown University View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with Pachaysana Institute: Ecuador - Rehearsing Change
Choosing this program was probably one of the most valuable things I've ever done. This semester showed me that fair exchange is actually accomplishable. I learned so much about human ability, including my own, and the meaningfulness (and closeness of meaning) of story, memory, and identity. It made me remember how incredibly be... - Juniata College View Entire Review
I gained perspective. Living and taking classes with local community members opened my eyes to a lived reality that I had previously known next to nothing about. The program broke down my western perceptions of "community development" and I made some new friends that have taught me so much. I also gained a family in Pachaysana -... - Carleton College View Entire Review
The most valuable things I gained from my time with Rehearsing Change were the relationships & a new way of understanding the world. I met people who are still some of the most important and influential people in my life, and through dialogue with them and the world around me I learned so much. Rehearsing Change was absolutely t... - American University View Entire Review

I learned skills for challenging cultural exchange. I learned community-led project development by practicing it. - Juniata College View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with Pachaysana Institute: Ecuador - Rehearsing Change
Rehearsing Change helped me see my education in a new light with a new critical lens. I have never participated in such meaningful classes nor done such meaningful homework. I watched myself and my counterparts grow with every project and every presentation. I shared very personal stories of successes, failures, vulnerabilities,... - American University View Entire Review

I learned to fully involve myself with my ecology, that nothing is separate from myself. I walked into much more of myself, my creative work, my voice, and my identity. I learned so much about humanity, friendship, love, armor, resistance, and survival. It was absolutely worthwhile. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
