Yes, I've learned a lot about my own process but also got a glimpse at what being an academic would look like. - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I learned more than I have at Middlebury. The tutorial system is something to experience. It's far better than lectures or seminars and even though I entails long hours in the library. The location is top notch. Oxford is an iconic place with a surprising amount of geographic variety and is a short train ride into central London... - Middlebury College View Entire Review
It was a lovely change of scene, I loved the local area and academic culture, and traveled a lot. It was definitely worthwhile! - Middlebury College View Entire Review
The independence made me take responsibility for every aspect of my daily life and work, which helped me understand what I really find important. It was worthwhile, not only because I felt like I got a taste of grad school, but because I met people who were willing to dive into conversations about the nature of life, art, and pu... - Middlebury College View Entire Review
It was definitely worthwhile. I have a lot of international experience, so for me it was more about the academics and the friends I made. - Elmhurst College View Entire Review

You know those things you do in life when you first start out and it seems like it'll just be this fun new thing you'll try, you'll have the experience, and it'll be great and then it'll be over; but actually it turns out to be this incredibly valuable time of life, and a pretty transformative experience on a personal level, whe... - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I studied, in great detail, numerous topics in my field and learned about the British tutorial system. I learned the feel of life in Britain and made important connections with scholars there. I'm now pursuing a PhD and am confident that I wouldn't be where I am without MCMRS. - University of South Carolina - Columbia View Entire Review

I learned a great deal about Politics. - Middlebury College View Entire Review
The Oxford tutorial system treats students like adults. At first it can be challenging to acclimate to the independence and self-discipline of managing your time, and meeting the demanding tutorial system. However, this program and the highly qualified tutors leave you with stronger researching, arguing, and writing skills that ... - Middlebury College View Entire Review
So and so. It was a different experience than studying at my home institution, very challenging and I guess I feel good about myself, knowing that I managed to complete the work I was assigned every week. The tutorials of the program were very interesting: one-to-one with an Oxford professor and weekly discussions on the assigne... - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I gained the knowledge from the professors and tutors, the experience of living abroad for several months, and the feeling of a writing intensive course load. - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Studying at CMRS was the most challenging academic experience I've experienced, but the MOST rewarding thing I've ever done as well. Every ounce of effort you put in, you get back and your eyes are opened to the greatest institution in the world and you leave feeling as if you've learned more in one semester than you've learned ... - Middlebury College View Entire Review

Past Review Overload Of Work
I did learn plenty of research skills and how to use a library to my best advantage. I think Oxford is more worth while though if you do two terms with an individual college rather than a proxy program. I would recommend this program if you care little about travelling and want to delve yourself into Medieval or Renaissance stud... - Middlebury College View Entire Review
