I learned how to live independently in a new country while navigating an entirely different scholastic curriculum. This program is worthwhile; perhaps even life-changing. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

Very worthwhile! I split my time abroad between two locations and felt I could gain cultural exchange from one semester, and academic advancement through CMRS. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about being independent and managing my own schedule whilst being worthwhile. I also learned that I love the UK because of my experience. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I gained an understanding of the differences in British and American universities, got a taste for British culture, really developed my research, writing, and discussion skills, and had a lot of fun. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Studying highly intellectual topics on my own, writing and reading regularly, managing my own time and expectations maturely. Totally worthwhile - although the values may only be revealed after some failures and frustrations. A student - University of Oxford View Entire Review
It was an excellent educational experience, both in a traditional academic sense as well as with cultural understanding. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

Part of my more holistic experience was experiencing the UK and getting a sense of what a country that was a former colonizer, which still keeps somewhat peaceful ties with its colonies, has grown from those times to now. As well as getting to explore avenues of education I might want to venture in within the country. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Very good tutorials -- I'm a Medieval and Renaissance studies major so course options were very specialized A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how to survive a lonely, difficult but rewarding period. Looking back, I got a great deal from the level of hard work I put in, but for my mental state it was not worthwhile. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I think on top of the rigorous academics, this program was good for learning how to live on your own. Also the kids in the program (while isolated from the locals) were very nice. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

About
The Middlebury College-CMRS Oxford humanities Program offers a semester of yearlong study abroad experience in Oxford, England. Its affiliation with Keble College and central location in the historic city provides multiple opportunities for students to engage in Oxford's academic and cultural life.
The semester program curriculum is rooted in the liberal arts tradition: qualified students from all disciplines are welcome to apply. The overall aim is to provide each student with a rigorous training in particular disciplines within the context of a broad and well-balanced academic, cultural, and social life. Certain qualities are necessary if a student is to obtain maximum benefit from an education here: an inquiring mind, a critical approach to facts and, above all, a capacity for creative as well as analytical thought.
