About

The program will offer intensive Swahili instruction in an immersion environment in Arusha, Tanzania. It will provide a unique opportunity for students to develop their speaking and listening skills at Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels while experiencing East African culture. Swahili, (or Kiswahili, as the speakers of the language call it) is a national language of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Therefore, students will be in an environment where the language is the most dominant one. The program will provide a unique opportunity for the students to sharpen their grammar and speaking skill by classroom instruction, as well as by interacting with native speakers on campus, in the community and in different locales that they will visit.
