Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Workload in Italy is very differnt, grades are based on only the midterm and final, some classes are very teacher-student participation, however some were just lectures, and with 3 students in the class, it made it very difficult to not pay attention with out being noticed.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Absolutely wonderful, EXTREMELY helpful, friendly, encouraging. They had every answer to every question, and if they didnt have the answer, they found it out for you. The friendliness was very welcoming and helped me feel at home, they felt like family! Also, the program for the entire semester only had 4 students including myself, which has made my experience unforgettable.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Safest place in the world! Everything was provided and I was treated perfectly by my lanlord.

* Food:

Everything was very independent, the location and information of restaurants was known.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The trips to the smaller, not well known towns really made my experience genuine, I really think like I got a feel for what Italy really is.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Safety was not a proble, everything felt safe and health issues were taken care of seriously and promptly.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? It depends, how much one eats out, eats, buys. I would say just on food and personal expenses each week, 20 euros.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Money comes and goes, your study abroad experience only happens once.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I could practice the language with anyone in my town.
