A European Adventure: My Semester in Germany January 04, 2022

By (Wellesley College) - abroad from 09/01/2021 to 12/23/2021 with

Jacobs University: Bremen - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My experience abroad was definitely worthwhile overall. I learned how to navigate public transport independently in a language other than English. I gained proficiency in carrying out basic conversations in German and accomplishing everyday tasks, like buying groceries or ordering food at restaurants. And I think the most important aspect of my experience was having the chance to interact with students at my host university and learn about their lives and backgrounds.

Also, smaller businesses often don't accept major credit cards like Visa or Mastercard, which was surprising.
