What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely. I gained knowledge in a cultural sense as well as practice in a foreign language. I gained many friends and relationships abroad and gained a more open mentality.

Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Spring 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Everything was very great

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I found that everything went very smoothly for me and I did not have any difficulties while in Spain nor during the planning process

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I had a fantastic time with my host family.

* Food:

For us, the food was very boring and repeated itself every few days but it was food regardless

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The social and non-academic aspects were by far the best.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I never felt unsafe or unhealthy... I did find that it was very difficult to exercise but never reached an unhealthy point

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be careful with money and not spend on everything.. its best to save money for the things that one really wants to do

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

I found great improvements

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Fantastic program and fantastic place. My most memorable experience so far
