Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about ISA. They were there for us from the beginning of the program to the end, and my experience abroad would not have been half as amazing without them.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My apartment in Rome was nicer than my apartment back home in San Diego. :)

* Food:

The ISA staff made sure to take us to a variety of restaurants, so that we could sample the authentic Italian foods each region is famous for.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I can't pick a favorite field trip because they were all so amazing!!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The ISA staff made sure to tell us how to stay safe and what areas of the city to avoid (not that there were any near us in Rome). They also helped us buy medicine if we were sick because all medicine in Italy is stored behind the counter at the pharmacy.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

We had an optional crash-course in Italian (how to make polite conversation, ask for the bathroom, order food, etc.) available to us through ISA. The instructor was excellent and I definitely couldn't have gotten around Rome without the help of his class.
