I gained friends, and I increased my confidence on my selfreliance. I now know I can make it anywhere I set my mind to. No doors will close for me, because this experience opened my mind to all posibilities and new friendships. About

Milan is Italy's second largest city and the European Union's fifth largest urban area, and is a major center for fashion, finance, and commerce. This modern, cosmopolitan city is home to several trade and fashion shows year-round. In addition to being the location of Italy's stock exchange, Milan is home to many of Italy's cultural delights such as the Duomo, Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, and Castello Sforzesco. Milan's metro and tram systems are easy to navigate and will get students around the city quickly as they explore all that the city has to offer. It won't be long before students feel right at home, immersed in true Italian culture. But as soon as they need an quick adventure, Milan's two international airports offer students the opportunity to easily travel anywhere in Europe.

Milan offers a variety of educational opportunities for students who study abroad. The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) is Italy's premier private university and offers a variety of courses. ISA students have the opportunity to study business, economics, fashion merchandising, and Italian culture right in the middle of Italy's commercial and economic hub. In addition to taking courses alongside other international students, students also have the opportunity to enroll in select business and economics courses with locals that are taught in English. Milan is also perfect for Italian majors or any student with a high level of language proficiency as these students will be able to enroll in and sit in class alongside local, degree-seeking students at UCSC. Students will find a variety of courses available, but popular course topics include literature, history, psychology, and political science.

Her experience was tragically cut short when she lost her life in a hiking accident in the mountains of La Campana National Park in Chile. ISA hopes that this scholarship will help aspiring study abroad students and will do so in memory of Michaela who only began to realize her dream of study abroad.
