Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Different grading system compared to American system. Good workload for study abroad program. Language classes helped me become more comfortable speaking Spanish while in Spain.

ISA was very helpful and was there when we needed anything. The program administration was a great addition to the program.

In my host family I felt as a guest, rather than a part of the family. I learned a lot from my host family, but would next time stay in an apartment near the center of the city.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I practiced Spanish in my home stay as well as in my Spanish classes at the university. Most of my friends spoke English to eachother.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would suggest living in an apartment near the center of the city, such as the Sol area. Also, plan trips ahead of time and realize the conversion between euro and dollar. You spend a lot of money abroad, so be prepared.
