What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained independence, maturity, and a whole lot of cultural awareness. Being abroad actually teaches you a lot about the US.

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Extremely easy course load. Practically no grading system. Teachers had the students teach class. Didn't show up most of the time. Classes were canceled 1-4 times a week.

Slightly unorganized, academics were lax.

Buffets Livres!!

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Soccer games and all of the trips! Iguacu Falls!

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Host city felt very very safe. Traveling outside of it was a lot more dangerous.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Most spoke only Portuguese and I could practice no matter where I went.
