What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I don't think I've ever done anything more worthwhile. I learned so much about myself and the world around me on this program.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Academics were on par with my home university, professors were extremely accommodating to international students

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was fantastic- they were incredibly accommodating (brought us an extra fridge because we had so many flatmates, fixed a shattered door that day for no charge). My only complaint is that there was no central heating- it gets chilly in the winter!

* Food:

There is no meal plan for international students at this school, but there is a grocery store within walking distance with a great selection and reasonable prices.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Healthcare was easily acceptable through the university. I was easily able to get a prescription for a medication I ran out of while overseas, and it cost less then it did back home! No vaccinations were needed for this program.

* Safety:

I always felt safe on campus on in town, even when walking alone at night. Campus safety was never far away if you needed them.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

This is low rated because I blew a lot of money on frivolous things (those bungy jumps really add up!.) However, basic essentials like food and clothes are only moderately more expensive than back home.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
