Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I didn't like that most of my grade was based on a huge test at the end of the semester. It's a lot of pressure, and I like how we give staggered grades here in the US. It helps you know how you're doing in the class.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

My program didn't even have a leader located in the city. They were based in the country's capital. What really was annoying was that, the students in that city got a lot of planned trips while the other students in different cities did not.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Buy tupperware, it makes a serious difference. And of course, don't eat out, unless you have a date and they're paying.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

My school didn't offer enough cultural events. Even though the campus was diverse they didn't have any celebratory cultural fairs like we do at my school here in America

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Very safe city. My program didn't really mention them, but I'd like to think they're pretty self explanatory.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
