What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes, so worth while!!! It set me back a semester but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Incredible

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was good, my classes didn't require much outside work which was really nice so I could travel and enjoy my time outside of school. The grading system is harder than the US but I did very well and the educational system is different but not so drastic that it's hard to adapt and produce good work. The teachers were all right, I had a really good teacher and one teacher that was terrible.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program leaders were amazing, super helpful and full of information!!! They were friendly and would go out of their way to give you specific details and everything. The program size was big but i liked it that way, it was easy to make friends.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was hard living with 5 other girls, the dishes were always dirty. But the apartment was amazing! I got the best room in the house and had a lot of privacy. We also somehow never had problems with sharing the bathroom. Our apartment was located kind of far away from everything but it wasn't too big of a problem. Also the neighbors never bothered us or were bothered by us.

* Food:

Spanish food gets old after a while..... but doner kebab is so delicious!!!!!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There's too much to write in the sections!!!! Amazing, everyone needs the social and cultural experience. Just do it.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I got sick in Morocco but I got medication and help easily! The program leaders were helpful and it's easy to get treatment for anything. Also I felt pretty safe after a couple weeks, you just need common sense really.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I could practice with classmates, teachers, anyone in the public, pretty much everyone. I could use it everyday but a lot of the locals knew english too.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It will open up your world, do not pass up a chance to study abroad!! Also anyone and everyone can benefit from it. Also I wouldn't choose the same program twice just because I would want to go to a different country my second time.
