Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The courses were absolutely educational and interesting, but I believe they were designed with the purpose of allowing students to also experience the country, rather than to be stressed and studying at all times possible. My educational experience overall would be 5 stars, but "rigor, intensity, resources" of actual course work describes a different type of education than is offered when studying abroad.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was satisfied with my host mother and enjoyed living in a homestay, but I think I simply expected something different than what it actually entailed. There were also slight cultural things that took time to adjust to.

* Food:

My home stay was a wonderful cook but it was sometimes difficult to finish the whole meal, and it was obvious she was offended when we didn't finish. It was difficult to maintain healthy/preferred weight/fitness for both my roommate and I because of the huge difference of how Spanish meals work.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? about 100
