Intern with a prominent non-profit organization in Tanzania, Africa. The placement is looking for applicants with an interest in International relations, global education and computer technology. The internship is ideal for those of you who would like to help promote technology education to the youth of Tanzania. This critically important 6-7 week project will include all housing and meals and transportation (not airfare to Africa) within Tanzania including an authentic Bush Safari in a nearby game reserve.
You will join the Founder and President of GLOBAL OUTREACH (www.GlobalOutreachTanzania.org) in Tanzania. You will arrive on a flight from Washington DC to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania along with a few other interns on the trip of a lifetime. Arriving in Dar es Salaam, you will stay in a hotel before departing on a 9-10 hour car or bus ride through the African countryside to the rural Tanzanian town of Iringa where you will stay for the duration of your internship. You will reside at the Bishop’s home at the Catholic Diocese, share a room with fellow intern, where your meals will be provided each day.
Weekends are free to get to know Iringa, a thriving college town (five campuses) of about 100,000. There are restaurants to visit and local markets for beaded goods, bags, carvings and other souvenirs. Iringa is a safe town as is Tanzania, and ATM’s abound when you need some local currency.
This is an incredible chance to get to know the REAL Africa, its people, scenery, environment and culture! You’ll go home knowing that what you took for granted is a luxury in a rural African town and that you MADE A DIFFERENCE with the young people of Tanzania!
