International Business Seminars: Summer China

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a better understanding of different cultures and how business practices differ. I also learned how to be a better traveler (and packers) while also meeting new friends.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The experience balanced learning with real life experiences in a way that allowed you to learn but also to have fun.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The staff that accompanied were great.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Hotels were nice.

* Food:

Food was pretty much on you, but I liked the meals that we did have a whole group.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

This program is great if you don't want to be abroad for long. You have long enough to get acclimated but not so long that you feel drained from being there. You visit 2 cities and get to experience the differences between them.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

If you budget well no problem.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 300-400
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Plan an amount to spend each day and do not allow yourself to go over that.
