We're so excited that you're preparing to study abroad on this engineering and Irish studies program for the summer. This program is hosted by Ulster University and based at the university's attractive Magee campus in lively Derry.
What the Engineering and Irish Studies program has to offer:
- Students take an Irish Studies course and choose one of two engineering courses
- Based at Ulster University, which offers outstanding programs in engineeringInstruction provided by regular Ulster University faculty
- IFSA-Butler provides additional support from an on-site Student Services Coordinator (SSC)
- Ideal for majors or minors in engineering
- Excursion to County Tyrone and a week-long stay in the Gaeltacht (the traditional Irish-speaking region of Ireland)
- Other cultural excursions, including sites of engineering interest, also included in the program

IFSA Scholarships
Any student applying to an IFSA-Butler program can apply for our general scholarship awards, which are $500 for a summer program, $1,500 for semester study, and $2,000 for the full year. We also offer special opportunities such as First Generation College Student scholarships and a Fill the GAP study abroad savings program that matches contributions up to $1,000.
