I learned how to appreciate new cultures, whether it's my Spanish host family or my friend I met here from Missouri. I learned more Spanish than I ever have before or will again. IES is also not a vacation. I have a full academic courseload, with final exams and final projects/essays. I'll intege

IES just did an amazing job at getting us involved in the local culture here. The professors all truly care about the students, and the staff are all awesome as well.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? You're going to meet a ton of great people in your program, but also try to meet local students. That way, you're forced to use the language.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That food in Granada was free. It made my decision automatic in hindsight.

You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
