What did I gain? Bravery. Now that I'm back home, I face everything with a "If I went to Germany, I can totally do this." mentality. It was the most amazing summer of my life. - Indiana University - Southeast View Entire Review

I think that anyone interested in any kind of International work must study abroad. There is no substitute for being at the source of what you are studying. You are more confident about what you know, more motivated to learn, and become more passionate about what you are doing. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

The opportunity to study abroad is one that every student should take. Not only do you meet great people from around the world, you make great friends, experience cultures that you may have never considered exploring and you expose yourself to different situations that you could not get from your University. I did learn academically, but mostly it was just a lot of different everyday experiences. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Friendship. Independence. Ability to travel to and easily visit foreign cities - you really learn about train/subway schedules and maps and hostels. It was definitely worthwhile! - University of Rochester View Entire Review
My knowledge of the Western Balkans and Turkey was not much, thus this program taught me a whole lot about the region and the problems that prevent them from entering the EU. I am now more interested in the future of these countries and how the EU may improve their conditions. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

About

The EU Summer Program gives you the opportunity to intensively study the past, present, and future challenges of European integration. The program begins in the heart of Europe—Freiburg, Germany—where you’ll start a specialized curriculum that will take you on a 16-day experiential journey through Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey.

In Turkey, you’ll visit Izmir, an economic/business hub on the Aegean Sea, where you’ll stay on the campus of Izmir Economics University to spend time with Turkish students, including a day at one of the local pristine beaches. After Izmir, you and your peers will travel to Istanbul to study the politics, minorities, religion, and history of a city that spans two continents. The Turkey trip also includes a visit to Ephesus, to the house where the Virgin Mary allegedly spent her final years.
