Overall Experience
More than can be written in this text box. It was totally worthwhile - William Jewell College View Entire Review
Many new friends; the German language, food and culture; cultural differences and structure of the EU; and more patience with myself. I am already hoping to return to Europe in order to explore more of the countries I was not able to see while abroad. - Bryant University View Entire Review
YES. it was amazing. I want to go back to Freiburg for a longer period of time! - Trinity University View Entire Review
Yes definitely. I learned a lot in Europe, about their culture, politics and also about America and about myself. - Grinnell College View Entire Review

European Studies here at W&M emphasizes language and history, and this program offered me the political science and economic academic opportunities I hadn't taken at my home school. The courses also all complement each other and branch off a core of foundational information which is taught immediately in the program (during orie... - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review

My experience was flawed but so is every abroad experience, nothing goes smoothly. I saw more and experienced more than I think any abroad program could have offered, and I gained so much knowledge on Europe that has changed my perspective on world events. - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I definitely has a "once in a lifetime" experience. I think everyone should live abroad at sometime in their life. It had it's ups and downs, but I would do it all over again if given the opportunity. - Rice University View Entire Review

Studying abroad has changed what I want to do post-grad. For instance, I am considering post-grad programs abroad that I was not considering before and I can see myself living over there for a few years. - University of Rochester View Entire Review
Past Review
I've traveled a lot before, so culturally this wasn't a stretch for me. However, the program itself did a good job of integrating local society and life into the academic setting, and I learned a lot in class that I could apply in my daily life abroad, especially about politics and culture. Leave your comfort zone! - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review

About

Why study abroad in one location when you can experience the politics and culture of more than 15 European countries? Our European Union Program allows you to live and learn about European politics, economics, business, and international relations like never before.

The centrally-located city of Freiburg, Germany, will be your home base. It’s here that you’ll take English-taught courses like Global Leadership, Political Science, and German. As part of the program’s required Integrative Seminar, you will travel for 22 days to gain exposure to the European Union and beyond. Not only will these course-related excursions give you better insight into the strengths and challenges of the European Union, they will also give you the experience you need to build your résumé and prepare you for an international career. As you visit each new country, you develop an understanding of the European Union, its history, and its institutions.

Europe will be your classroom. Imagine visiting the European Parliament and discussing current social and political issues with EU officials, or meeting with leaders of multinational corporations to learn about international trade.
