I LOVE CHINA. People and strangers there are so nice, but especially the teachers. They took interest in my personal life and career opportunities. Many occasions they would invite us or come over to cook or go out to eat, very personable experience. VERY WORTHWHILE! - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review

I learned a lot of Chinese. It was worthwhile. - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review
Yes. I am considering going back to continue working on my language skills. - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review
I learned that I was capable of far more than I ever imagined and that I could be self sufficient in a different culture. I also felt like more than anything I learned how to learn the program. - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review
I gained a lot of language experience that I could not have gotten in the US. It was absolutely worthwhile, I only wish I had gone earlier so I could have stayed for a whole year. - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review

About

Established by American University in Washington, D.C. in 1986, China Studies Institute was known as one of AU's World Capitals programs under the academic tutelage of AU's prestigious School of International Service. In the fall of 2004, CSI was allowed to operate independently.

Since then, CSI has grown exponentially from about 20 students to more than 200 students annually.

The key to our growth is the enthusiasm of our students and faculty. It is the consensus among our students that CSI offers a huge range of choices from area studies courses taught in English to language immersion, with language pledge and class sizes under 5, from internships to five themed study trips all over China.

With solid relationships with over 40 universities and liberal arts colleges in America, we will continue to provide top-notch education and other opportunities for American students in the years ahead.
