Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned what it is like to be a physician every day and I got to rotate in all the hospital's departments and gain a solid perspective of my medical career path. The coordinating team were very organised and they made us feel at home. Athens is a very safe city with so many things to see and do.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The coordinators made us feel at home. We could reach them 24/7 for any issue

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Very safe location right next to the public transport

* Food:

Greek food was amazing!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Our coordinators helped us to learn a lot about the local culture and proposed many cultural & touristic activities that we all had an amazing time

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

There were no health issues. The hospital was willing to address any health issues that might arise.

* Safety:

The city is very safe to roam around even late at night

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The hospital is one of the top in the country and the doctors are experts in their field. Hence the more you stay with them the more you learn. I now know which medical specialty I want to focus on.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

In a tavern the food was $7-$10 per person and supermarkets are rather cheap as compared to back home. Its easy to get by with $50-$100 per week including activities

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $50
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Ask the coordinators to guide you to non-touristic areas for great food at affordable prices. There are open markets once a week with fresh fruits and vegetables

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No
