Going abroad, wherever you go, it's worth it. It gives you the opportunity to learn about multiple cultures while learning about yourself at the same time and picking up a bit of the local language. About

The Leiden summer program is a short but intense program with an emphasis on the individual development of the students (given their different levels and background), combining and intertwining Graphic Design, Drawing and Photography.

Courses are taught by local faculty and practicing artists. In order to guide the creative process, each week will focus on one theme, to be explored with assignments and homework throughout all three disciplines. This is complemented by weekly excursions to cities and shows of current interest as well as books and illustrations with a focus on Dutch and European contemporary Art and Design in a broad sense.
During the summer program one or more themes help guide the creative process, like Feet, Hands, Heart and Head. At the end of the course students are expected to create a final piece in which two of the provided disciplines (of their choice) are combined into one work.

Less than 40 minutes by train from Amsterdam, the city of Leiden dates back to the 12th century. It is home to the nation's oldest and prestigious university. Built along picturesque canals, Leiden has a lively student population, a historic center and various museums. Buses provide convenient public transportation within the city but by far the most popular means of getting around is the bicycle.
