Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The difficulty level was about the same as the University of Arizona. You are required to do the same amount of reading and the final papers are around 8-12 pages. You are expected to do presentations in almost every class. You only have class once a week for 3 hours, which is difficult to get used to at first, but eventually you learn to like it.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The CEA staff in Prague is amazing. They are so helpful and always available to you. They will help you with anything. LITERALLY. They will help you with the foreign police, they will help you find a hair salon and a gym, and they will always make sure your apartment is in good shape.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Our apartment was in a great part of prague. Close to school and old town and relatively close to anywhere you want to go out at night. It is HUGE. All you need when you come is sheets and towels, everything else is provided.

* Food:

I really like czech food, but I am one of the only ones who do. Don't worry though, there are tons of places to get different kinds of food. Go to Banditos for mexican, Pizza Colosseum for italian. If you want American food try The Globe and Radost has the best brunch on the weekends

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Poland was amazing. I learned so much on that trip.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Prague is super safe. The only thing you need to worry about is pick pockets. If you need a doctor you can go to the clinic at any time and they are super helpful.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The people I met and the experiences I had.
* What could be improved?
  • pre-departure was pretty hectic
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? SEE EVERYTHING YOU CAN IN PRAGUE! It is a beautiful city and there is so much to see and do besides the touristy stuff. If you come in the fall make sure you spend as much time outside before it gets cold. Go to Lucerna on Friday nights, you wont regret it. Fried cheese is good for you. Save up as much money as you can before you go abroad.
