By (PSYCHOLOGY., University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse) for

CEA CAPA Education Abroad: Paris, France

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. I definitely gained understanding for language barriers. I learned a lot about culture and that we need to be accepting of other cultures whether or not we agree with them. I now want to do a semester abroad, hopefully to Scotland. I learned so much in such a short amount of time.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work load was easy, we gave two presentations, blogged about our days, and wrote a paper at the end. The educations system seems a little more strict their however, I was taught by UWL faculty so I didn't truly experience the Paris school system.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were very accommodating and helpful. The program size was very nice because it was so small. It gave us the flexibility to change our plans. My expectations were meet and I think this trip was very worth wile. I really enjoyed working with the CEA.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

We ate out for every meal because we didn't have a food plan. However, some nights we would get food from the picard which is cheep GOOD frozen food grocery store.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I really enjoyed going to the crepe resonant at Versailles. The atmosphere was great and so were the staff. They made it very enjoyable and delicious meal!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt safe in Paris, but I was also smart and careful.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
