Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was appropriate because the professors understood that we wanted to experience the city and not do too much homework. They also tried to incorporate the city into their lessons.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were very friendly and made everyone feel included. They always had fun activities and excursions.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I really likes the dorms where I lived. The neighborhood was beautiful and very safe. I did not however like living with Americans because I wasn't able to practice with native speakers.

* Food:

I was able to buy food at local super markets and cook my own food. It was difficult at first because the products are a little different, but once you get use to it, it's very simple.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved the trip to Provence for a weekend. I did not like that we were outside of the city and we could not do anything after hours because there were no near by places.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I thought the city was much more safe that explained. It all depends on the type of situations you put yourself in. It is a totally different culture and you must try to fit in so that you wont stick out like a sore thumb. But most of the time when people know you are a foreigner they are very excited to learn more about you and to speak English.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

They had French students in the program but they mostly wanted to speak in english. It was very difficult to practice French especially when living in the American building.
