What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
YES!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat. It's hard at first but it is so worth it in the end.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

CEA was a really good program. The teachers were great and I learned a lot. However, my program was partnered with the University of Barcelona and that school was a joke. The professors were awful and I hardly learned anything at all. They did not adapt their teaching methods to fit the needs of the students.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Great educational teachers. No school on Friday's so it gives you a lot of time to travel :)

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

You can either live in an apartment or a residencia in Barcelona. I would recommend the apartment. You live with fellow Americans in your program. The apartments are super NICE and spread out around the city. It was great! You got to see so much of the city this way.

* Food:

Eat at Kapadokya and Bo de B's!!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

They take you on quite a few weekend and day trips. They're really fun, go on them!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Great health insurance. You don't have to pay for anything

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I practiced with my classmates and around the city. I had to use Spanish to get by in Barcelona because most people do not speak English. If they do, by chance, speak English, it is very very limited.
