I learned how to work in a professional setting and gained real life experience relevant to my major. I gained a greater insight into an overall global mindset and was reassured that international studies is something I'm confident in pursing. - Anderson University, SC View Entire Review
I got to go outside of my comfort zone a lot, which I truly appreciate. I lived without my family, had to go grocery shopping for myself, and balance my own budget. This was tough, but I learned a lot about what it will be like when I'm on my own. I also got to meet new people and explore a new place. - University of Massachusetts Amherst / UMass View Entire Review

I learned that in my life, I never want to stop traveling. There are so many places out there to explore, and I want to see them all. Traveling to Sydney and seeing how a whole new country lives was inspiring, and it leaves me wanting more. This program allowed my mind to be carefully crafted by the ideologies of hundreds of different people I got to interact with on a daily basis. I was taught knowledge on an educational and philosophical level that simply could not have been accomplished by reading a textbook, but by living amongst people of another culture. Past Review My Summer Abroad
I abosutely loved studying abroad through the CAPA program. I spent 7.5 weeks in Sydney, Australia, and I learned so much. CAPA helped me prepare for the trip, helped me find an amazing internship, and the staff was always there in Sydney if we needed anything. As a group, CAPA took us on a trip to the Blue Mountains and a wildl... - Purdue University View Entire Review
Although it sounds kind of cheesy I learned a lot about myself while being abroad. I have always been a fairly independent person but that really gets put to the test when you are in a foreign country where you don't know anyone. I would say it helped me grow up a bit and learn some good life skills, like how to take the public... - Arizona State University View Entire Review

I could never imagine how worthwhile my trip would end up being. My views on life were expanded and I was able to see so much of the world. Apart from my host country I also traveled to Fiji, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Honestly, the only downfall from the entire experience was having to come back home. I would do it again... - Arizona State University View Entire Review
It was a worthwhile experience for sure. I learned how to use time management well and how to live in a big city. I would have rather done an exchange program with an Australian university. - Arizona State University View Entire Review

About

A breathtakingly beautiful coastal city, Sydney is an exciting and diverse place to study abroad with 120 nationalities and the rhythm of 250 languages spoken here. That means delicious foods from around the world fill the markets and there are international celebrations like Buddha’s Birthday Multicultural Festival to join in on. It can be laid-back, with more than 100 beaches and dozens of coastal walks to enjoy, but it’s also one of the biggest business hubs in the Asia-Pacific region and has been named the “innovation and technology capital of Australia”.

The CAPA Sydney program is based in TAFE NSW Sydney Institute, in a beautiful centrally located heritage building. Our distinctive blend of academic and experiential education takes your learning style, interests, preferences and independence into consideration.

You’ll learn both inside the classroom and beyond, with field studies, excursions, My Global City events, and an (optional) internship placement.
