Overall Experience
I learned so much from locals at work and in passing. I feel like I truly submerged myself in a different culture and it was fascinating to be a part of. It was easily the most worthwhile thing I've ever done and will probably ever do. - University of Missouri - Columbia View Entire Review
Studying abroad with CAPA was, truly, one of the best decisions I have ever made. When I began the process of finding a program to study in London with, there were a few things that I know I wanted: To live in a flat in the city, to be able to travel, and to have an internship. I found that CAPA would be able to give me all of t... - Rider University View Entire Review
My internship provided through CAPA gave me a lot of professional experience. Living in London gave me plenty of worldly perspective. - SUNY - College at Oswego View Entire Review
I learned a ton about the world I am living in. I learned that a lot of the struggles and challenges we face as Americans are not at all the same thing that people in other parts of the world struggle with. This experience opened my eyes to all the great things I have had a privilege to and taught me to be fortunate for this. I ... - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

I learned how to be independent in a foreign city and I learned how to interact with all kinds of people. Yes, it was worthwhile. - University of Hartford View Entire Review

One of the cool things I learned is that no one is going to get you where you want to be. You have to motivate and push your own self to do that. The daily tube rides were always crowded and pressed for space. If you did not move, you was not going anywhere. - Albright College View Entire Review
It was an incredibly worthwile experience. I felt like it was a really good fit for me and I loved all the academic and internship opportunities the program offered. - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

It was 100 percent worthwhile. I learned so much about myself and grew into a more independent and confident person. - Saint Ambrose University View Entire Review
Studying abroad really opened my mind to the world and gave me a global perspective on everything. In general I feel like I grew so much during my time abroad through meeting new people and especially my internship. It taught me about the type of place I can see myself living in the future, and it taught me how valuable experien... - University of Hartford View Entire Review

I gained a lot from this program — having never had roommates, or my own place, I got the opportunity to live independently for the first time in my life. Coming from a small town, the transition to city life was transformative too. I would say the trip was absolutely worthwhile for me, but a big flaw is a lack of immersion.... - Hood College View Entire Review
From my abroad experience, I gained a newfound confidence in myself and my ability to navigate the world and certain social situations. I am better able to communicate successfully with people and am more excited to participate in activities that may initially make me a little nervous. It was definitely worthwhile and essential ... - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

Besides gaining what you're actually there for (great work experience that relates to your major and class credit), I really gained confidence and independence. Learning to navigate a foreign city, adapting to a culture, meeting new people, things like cooking for yourself and traveling to other countries - it really requires pl... - Purdue University View Entire Review

I learned so much about myself and the world. I realized that I lived in a bubble, and needed to gain perspective. I saw how other people and countries lived, and it taught me to be more open and learn to love whatever I was exposed to. It was incredibly worthwhile and rewarding. - University of Mississippi View Entire Review

I learned to not be afraid or intimated of having conversations with adults. I always felt that they did not care what I had to say or my opinion on anything. My boss actually challenged me and he made me realize that I have a hard time explaining myself. I did not realize that I was not open minded to certain things. So when it... - SUNY - College at Oswego View Entire Review

In addition to memories and friends that will last a lifetime, I gained many valuable life skills: independence, confidence, adaptability, cross-cultural communication, the ability to work through difficult situations. Study abroad is probably the most worthwhile and beneficial thing that I’ve done in college. Everything that I ... - University of Massachusetts Amherst / UMass View Entire Review
I could not have asked for a better study abroad experience. I gained so many life long friends and traveled to more places than I could have imagined. I learned how to travel at an affordable price, the safest and easiest ways to get around cities, and became more of an overall independent person. - University of Massachusetts Amherst / UMass View Entire Review

It was definitely a worthwhile experience, I made new friends and visited different countries while learning about England when I was at home - University of Hartford View Entire Review
Studying abroad was the best time of my life, and was so worthwhile the worry and financial stress. It was my first time out of the country to live in the UK for 4 months, and it was the longest I had ever been away from home. Most days I was on my own during my commute and travels around the city, and I learned that being on yo... - Hood College View Entire Review
I learned to respect cultures that are different from my own. I also learned that I need to always act as a positive ambassador of the United States to help bridge misconceptions that people of other cultures have of us. - Siena College View Entire Review
Interning and studying with CAPA I learned a lot and was able to grow personally and professionally. I woke up each morning and was excited for work or for class and that's how I knew I chose the right program for me. During my experience abroad, what I learned the most about was probably myself. The program gives you so much time to do whatever you choose, it can show you more about who you truly are. For example, when an empty day presents itself (which I found many of), how you choose to spend it is up to you, and probably a few friends yo... - University of Florida View Entire Review

Going into this program, I had never been exposed to any international experiences. It was nerve-wracking and forced me to step out of my comfort zone, but it taught me more about myself than I could have ever imagined. For one, I gained a sense of confidence by being abroad on my own for two months. I was forced to learn a new ... - SUNY - College at Oswego View Entire Review

Take a hop across the pond and you’ll see that CAPA’s London program will always remind you you’re somewhere new. Yes, you will be in an English-speaking country, but from afternoon tea breaks to the various cultures London is home to, you will be surrounded by a set of new experiences. Try your hand at learning some new vocabulary (“trousers” are “pants”, a “flat” is an “apartment”, and let’s not get started on “chips” and “fries”…) as you take the tube (subway) to class. London has always been a center for the arts, from everything to beloved bands like The Beatles to the writings of Virginia Woolf. Enjoy the inspiration that will surround you, and create some of your best work while you create some of your best memories.

The courses, internships, service learning, and cultural activities you'll experience will be unlike anything you've known before. Our courses will challenge and inspire you to come up with new ideas and help change the world. The CAPA London Center is centrally located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in two Victorian townhouses, giving you an authentic feel of the city. The CAPA London staff are available to provide support as you adapt to a new culture, as well as a 24-hour emergency hotline.
