About

Take in healthcare from a global perspective while getting hands-on medical experience in the tranquil hills of southern India.

This advanced program gives students who want to pursue medicine or a degree in public health a rare chance to experience a global healthcare system full-circle. Deepen your medical experience as you shadow doctors in local hospitals, administer patient medications, assist professionals in a rural clinic and take vitals at a childcare center. Promote public health initiatives by preparing education materials and presenting them to local women and children.

Beyond your two weeks of community service, you’ll explore the context of the medical system by studying the history and culture of India. Practice yoga surrounded by fruit trees on an ecological farm. See healthcare from a fresh yet ancient perspective when you study India’s traditional healing system, Ayurveda. Visit a wildlife sanctuary, explore ancient temples, and tour the scenic waters of India’s southwestern coast.

During this in-depth look at the world of medicine, you will challenge your abilities, serve communities in need, and get comprehensive experience in a fascinating area of global health.
