What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My knowledge of Italian language and culture increased immensely. Studying abroad made me want to travel more and learn more languages and experience more new things in general.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Very safe area, close to school.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Very safe - just make sure not to walk by yourself at night, always have at least one other person with you. Healthcare was easily accessible, I had an eye infection, and one of the program directors made me an appointment with a doctor, and it got taken care of very quickly and easily. The doctor checked out my eye (he also spoke some English) and prescribed me drops which were easily obtained from the pharmacy. Just make sure you have insurance because you have to pay a lot up front, but then it all gets reimbursed later once you submit the charges to your insurance company.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Traveling to different cities on the weekends was expensive because you have to pay for train tickets and hostels, and everything costs more in touristy cities, so food and souvenirs and sightseeing were all more expensive. But traveling is definitely worth the costs.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
