You learn more about yourself and the world outside of the classroom than you could ever dream of from a textbook. It was a beautiful, enriching experience that made me who I am today. - Williams College View Entire Review
I learned that you can make a "home away from home." You have a chance to make lasting relationships abroad with locals while improving your language skills at the same time. - Carthage College View Entire Review
It was 100% worthwhile- I became as close to fluent in French as I could hope to become while studying abroad. - Tulane University View Entire Review
I really connected with my host family and enjoyed getting to know other french students my age that I can later stay in touch with. I want to go back as soon as I can! - Tulane University View Entire Review
I gained confidence, independence, and an appreciation for a new culture. I would say it was worthwhile because AUCP was so committed to their goals of immersion that we were forced to get out of our comfort zone and reap all the benefits of study abroad. - Linfield College View Entire Review
So much...how to live alone, how to adapt to entirely new circumstances, and so much about myself and the French language. It was very challenging but the most enriching experience of my life. - Colby College View Entire Review
I learned so much about myself during my semester abroad and definitely became a more confident person. I am also very proud of how much my French improved, and that alone made it worthwhile. I also gained an understanding of French culture that I didn't have before but really appreciate now, and I made great friends I still kee... - Ursinus College View Entire Review

The biggest thing I gained was a new and more open cultural perspective, which comes mostly from the Cultural Patterns course but also through my interactions with French students and my host family. - Carleton College View Entire Review
This experience literally changed my life, I gained an incredible amount of self-confidence from studying abroad with the AUCP - it was absolutely the right balance of challenge and fun. I can proudly say that I am now fluent in French and have a deepened understanding of French culture, thanks to the AUCP. While I came to Franc... - Fordham University View Entire Review
The number one way that you can make your experience better is to go outside of your comfort zone. - Austin College View Entire Review
I learned the power of cultural differences. Many of my actions and mannerisms were interpreted as very stand offish or off putting. I think that being a person who keeps to myself and also being a minority, I was somewhat of an anomaly in France. Progressive as it was, France hadn't evolved quite enough for me to feel completel... - Barnard College View Entire Review
I learned my own language skills and how to manage sometimes difficult situations - Fordham University View Entire Review

I gained so much intercultural fluency, and made so much progress in my french language skills (which were already decent). Everyday was an adventure, so yes worthwhile to put it lightly. By the end, the way I saw myself and my future had completely changed. I understand the importance of education overseas, and there's no doubt... - Barnard College View Entire Review
So worthwhile. Gained a whole new perspective on the importance of being a global citizen, of languages, or traveling, and of being grateful. - Scripps College View Entire Review

I learned a lot of self-reliance and resourcefulness as well as a new sense of cultural intelligence. - Linfield College View Entire Review
I gained a high proficiency in French, which made it pretty worthwhile. I had studied abroad before, so my experience was not as life-changing as it was for others (happily, I experienced that the first time I was abroad!). I sometimes wish I had only gone for a semester rather than a year; there were some important courses I co... - Barnard College View Entire Review
Language was a very big part, and definitely every single experience I had there was worthwhile. It changed me a lot in many ways. - Rice University View Entire Review
I learned an incredible amount of French culture, not only from my classes but from daily life as well. It pushed me to learn how to communicate in different ways and to better explain things. It also, as cliché as it may sound, pushed me out of my comfort zone, necessitating that I learn how to navigate a different kind of cit... - Linfield College View Entire Review
