American University of Sharjah is a university located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates offering 1 direct enrollment and exchange program and 3 programs managed by an outside provider. Programs offered include Study Abroad abroad programs.
International study abroad students are welcome to take courses in all four colleges and schools at the American University of Sharjah, including: College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD); College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); College of Engineering (CEN); and School of Business Administration (SBA). In addition to the usual selection of courses and programs, specialty courses include: Islamic Banking and Finance, Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies, and Islamic Architecture and Design. We also offer a Summer Intensive Arabic Language Program (SIALP).
AUS is accredited in the US by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. AUS is licensed in the US by the Department of Education of the State of Delaware. AUS is also licensed and accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. All of the bachelor degree programs in the College of Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET of the United States. The Bachelor of Architecture program of the College of Architecture, Art and Design is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)of the United States. The BSBA, MBA, and EMBA programs in the School of Business and Management are accredited by AACSB International.
AUS is a member of the ISEP network, and is a study abroad destination for CIEE, API, and IFSA-Butler. In addition, AUS has bilateral exchange agreements with several universities in the US and abroad including: American University (US), Euromed's Kedge Business School (France), George Washington University (US), James Madison University (US), Louisiana State University (US), Maastricht University's School of Business and Economics (Netherlands). Simon Fraser University (Canada), Southern Utah University (SUU), University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business, and University of Victoria's Gustavson School of Business. Students coming from a university that does not currently have an exchange agreement with AUS are welcome to study abroad at AUS through our Visiting Student Program.
