The Swedish Program at Stockholm University is a highly regarded study abroad program in English. Founded in 1987, we are a small program (enrolling around 40 students each semester) within a large international university. We are committed to providing our students with both a challenging academic and rewarding everyday cultural experience. Classes are small, creative, and based on student participation. What students learn in the classroom is relevant to their everyday cultural experiences. Students have opportunities to meet and interact with Swedes at the University and through our host and contact family program. Students can also live in apartments located throughout the city.
The challenge of study abroad is to learn about the institutions and people of a different culture as you gain a better understanding of yourself and your own country. The distinctive features of the Program – our curricular breadth, high academic standards, commitment to cultural integration, our university setting, and small size – effectively promote this multifaceted learning experience.
